January's Favourites!

Wednesday, 5 February 2014
I probably should of done this post 6 days ago, but better late than never!
I'm going to start doing this post at the end of every month and a wishlist for the start of each month :)
So this is a post about all the little things I might have bought throughout January, which became my new favorites!

Owl oil burners - G&T's, £2.00 each
4 Hour tealight candles - G&T's, £3

I bought one of these at the start of the month as my mom had one when I went back home for christmas, I love buying little things for my room at university. There's a shop called G&T's here, not sure if they have other branches etc but it is like a cheap store that sells everything. I found these and thought they would fit in perfectly with the rest of my white/pink theme room. My mom had bought me some tealight candles for christmas but I had already run out, (I burn alot of candles whoops) so I bought a new set of 36 long 4 hour ones. The oil goes in the top of the burner so when the candle inside heats the plate up, it lets off this beautiful smelling steam. I prefer it to incense as I don't like that smokey incense smell and this just smells so fresh. The oil's I pick up from G&T's and they literally have loads for 20p each. I buy so many, and I just get through loads so it's really inexpensive as they're so cheap! I loved it so much that last time I actually bought another oil burner, so now I have 2! :)

Rimmel, Kate Moss Matte - Shade 110, £3.99

Excuse the messy tube, but as you can see this was one of my faves throughout Jan, when my hair was blue I found it difficult to wear lipstick so this one was a perfect pink shade to compliment the overwhelming blue that was my hair. It's a lovely shade to wear in the day or night and I'm obsessed with the matte collection. It goes on so creamy and just matte's right up and stays on for the whole day. I think it's such a good alternative to MAC lipstick, it lasts ages but without the expensive price tag.

IKEA Candles, Tindra - 95p each

I am obsessed. Last time my parents went to Ikea I literally jumped at the chance because I wanted to stock up with their candles (hehe) They are so cheap at just 95p! They come in this glass container which is cute because when they are finished, I discard the wax and put tea-lights in them. They smell so amazing for the price tag, I bought, like 5 last time I went at Christmas time and I only have one left (sobs) But if you ever go to Ikea.. buy them. Loads of them.. otherwise you'll regret it when you run out!

The Fault in our stars, John Green - £3.85
Amazon - (link)

(no spoilers, I promise.)

So I've slowly but gradually been getting through all the John Green books (hehe) After I read Looking for Alaska, which I really enjoyed, I decided to give this one a go. I'd seen people raving about it on the internet, so I bought it from amazon for quite a cheap price. They do a kindle version too, but I prefer holding a book and turning the pages.. I literally sobbed.. not weeped.. sobbed haha. The end is just such a twist I didnt see it coming. A very sad book.. If you're not up for soppy sad stories then I wouldn't recommend, but if like me you like a good cry and becoming attached to characters you will love this! I'm no literature snob so I can't say if its well written or not because I don't have a clue but, I found this easy to read! I've now purchased another John Green book. This will be released as a film next year too, but I don't think it will live up to the book! :)

Factory Girl, Amazon,

Since my boyfriend introduced me to this film I just love it. I hated it at first and complained when he put it on, but it's actually become one of my favourite films. It's such a tear jerker and depressing but it's a lovely film. Set in the 60's/70's its basically the life story of Edie Sedgewick, has alot of Andy Warhol in it too. Such a good film, and Sienna Miller is just beautiful in this. Recommend watching :)

Kinder chocolate bars, £3.00 Lidl

Whenever I go do my shopping, I always pick up a packet of these. It has an unusually creepy child on the front, but aside from that, they are just so addictive, a whole pack goes within a day..and that's 16 bars of these things.
mmm.

I hope you enjoyed reading last months favorites!
What are some of your favourite's?

Review | La Riche Directions, Violet

Monday, 3 February 2014
It's been so long since I've written a blog post.. I've just been so caught up in settling for university and stuff I haven't had much time to blog, or find the time to blog.

So yesterday I had such a huge urge to dye my hair, I've been wanting to go purple for a little while now, as I was kinda getting bored of the blue. I even got my nails done purple, which kinda convinced me to do it.

Again I used La Riche Directions but this time I used the violet. I was so scared of using this because its so dark in the bottle! eek! I also bleached my hair beforehand and I was super scared that it wouldn't take properly :(

I have been loving direction's hair, the turquoise had literally lasted me ages, barely faded.

When I first dyed it, it was a little patchy.. I literally covered my head in this stuff, I find that purple is hard to get even anyway but yeah. I did go over certain bits again. If you're doing this I would recommend getting more than you think you will need!

I will eventually get round to editing the video but here's the colour!

(so sultry lol)

So yeah, this is my new purple hair! It looks really nice in the daytime, not so sure of night. I do however prefer the blue - I don't think this will last as long..Will put the video up soon :)

What I got for Christmas!

Monday, 30 December 2013
Sorry it's been so long since I've blogged, my whole family from the scottish side pretty much all came down, so it was really hectic here over Christmas!

I finally, made a video! feel free to cringe at my accent, but yes I finally sat and edited a video. I've done it in two parts, mainly so you don't get bored and hate me but also so I have more time to edit the second part.

This is what gifts I received on Christmas day from my family & boyfriend. I hope everybody had a glorious day, I'm not trying to brag about what I received yada yada, I'm very thankful for everything Santa brought me this year! I thought it would be nice to see what I got, but I also love seeing what everybody else got for Christmas! so feel free to leave your blog in the comments if you've done a similar post, as I love reading them!

Clothes Show Live!

Tuesday, 17 December 2013

Hello! I'm sorry again, for my lack of posts. I've been so busy now that I'm back in Birmingham, meeting up with old friends etc I haven't had the time! I was also waiting for the above photos to be posted online so I could post this lovely post about Clothes Show Live 2013.

As you can see I was snapped at the clothes show, wearing my usual cheap primark attire haha, you can view the article with my photographs if you click on them, above. I wish however I told her that my scarf is actually Burberry, might of made my outfit sound better than just primarni lol. ;) My fringe is also just crazy, apologies haha. Since having this new fringe in, I've seemed to forgotten how to style it, but now I've been blow-drying it, its been so much better. Anyway, moving along...

So this is what I actually bought from the clothes show this year :)

So this year, I was genuinely disappointed with the clothes show, this is literally all I bought.
I found that there was so much vintage stuff and barely any higher end brands, which was super disappointing as I don't ever go to the clothes show to 'thrift' Birmingham town centre has so many vintage stores, what's the point of going to the clothes show for it when its like 10x the price.
I literally bought one piece of clothing and then bits and bobs and a goody bag.
Even the Rimmel goody bags this year were super rubbish, it had like fake tan and orange coloured lipsticks etc and its winter.. like what.
So I was sad about that.
They had there own little social media blogger section too, which was super cool, but as it was invitation only, it was kind of pointless. They had a whole area allocated for it but no-one was ever there. I thought it would've been good for any blogger to go visit, get tips, you know, but nope.
So yeah, rant over, sorry haha but I am so glad that I bought a groupon ticket and didn't pay full price.

These were a good idea this year though, although the first photograph was £3. ¬_¬
But meh, the concept was cool, we just didnt have enough time to change props haha hence why I also look so surprised in the top photograph.
The second booth photo was free and we got free diet coke! yay!

Ciate, Emerald Collection box set - £3
So these were on offer if you bought 3 of these sets it was only £10, which according to my lovely friend Katie who came with me. She loves this brand and I was convinced. Maybe I might actually try and have nails for Christmas. I thought this box set was the perfect opportunity to kind of just have a go at it and see how I feel. So I had one of Katie's boxes as I don't need 3. I'm thinking of doing a review on this soon!
So comment if you would like to see that. :)

Directions, Hair Dye, Various colours, - 4 for £10
I know that there's only 3 here, but I used one to mix with my conditioner. It's just a turquoise one. I thought I would stock up on some colours, I really want to try the violet next, which I will probably dilute. I'm just so excited to try new colours and I love la riche directions, so far.

ELLE Magazine, Goody bag - £2
I bought this last year and although I wasn't hyped about what was actually in the goody bag, I bought it anyway just for the magazines. I really enjoy ELLE but I can never pay £4 for a magazine, just ouch. So 2 for £2 plus a nail varnish and St Tropez bottle is kinda worth it.
I did however receive the St Tropez last year, which sucked because it was just meh, disappointing guys!

Cross top, OhMyLove - £5
This was the same exact stock they had in last year, their tshirts etc they were selling off for a fiver. I bought it because I bought some last year and they are super comfy! I was so sad that it was the same stock though, I really wanted to get some bargains from them as I love their stuff. This looks cute though, love wearing this with some leggings. :)

Diet coke Graduate show
I didnt actually visit the main show, I wanted to shop more than anything although I did stop by some of the graduate showcases to see what graduates were up too! These are some of my favourites :)

For some reason blogger isn't letting me upload my edited versions. Boo!
But yeah I'm sorry for my poor photographs this week, I have had to use my iphone for some as my boyfriend is borrowing my super camera :3

Hope you enjoyed this post!
Thanks for reading :)

Haul | Primark Mini

Thursday, 5 December 2013

I've been trying hard to keep a good flow of posts going this week, hopefully I will do a blog post everyday, well that's what I'm aiming for.
Anyway so a few days ago I went on a little shopping trip to the primark in Bournemouth town centre. This is a huge deal for me as I barely ever get the chance to spend money on clothes or to actually go to the town centre. Its such a long walk away and cycling.. well. UGH.

So I got the bus.. I discovered there's a bus stop literally down my road, (which means more trips yippee!) so yeah here is my mini little primark haul, not a big one as I'm poor (haha) but a bargain one nevertheless.

So first of all I bought these two cute little plain t-shirts.
The grey one is a ilovemycroptop collection and the teal is just a stretchy top.
The grey one was on sale at £2
and the teal one was £3.50 :)
I just needed these as I had nothing to coordinate with my crazy hair colours and I was fed up of having clashing colours all the time.. so neutral colours for me! :)

Fluffy Rose Jumper - £7
Next I bought this jumper, it was in the sale section, again I was circling that area like a hawk.
I was after one of these jumpers after I bought a green cardigan which is similar material and it's SO warm.
I instantly saw this on sale and I was like *yank*
Its super cosy and fluffy, not itchy at all I can't wait to wear it.

*sooo fluffy*

Grey Knit Cardigan - £5
Yes.. this was a fiver. I literally could not contain my excitement when I discovered this beauty.
Its so warm, so cosy and its really soft, its not an itchy knit at all.Why this was a fiver I have no idea, but it was a complete bargain. This is probably my favourite item I bought. It's just a chilling super baggy cardigan that you can chuck over anything. Again it's neutral grey so will match whatever hair I have at the time.
Love it.

.. and here's me wearing it. super baggy, super comfy and super cute.

Pinafore cord dress - £12
This dress I am actually contemplating taking back. It was really hard to photograph by the way so apologies. But I just don't think the fit warrants the £12. I usually like quite figure hugging items due to my chest but it just sits kinda weirdly around my waist.. I want to take this back, but I can't find the receipt, I don't think the lady gave me one so now I'm sad. :(

So this was my mini primark haul, I know it's not very big but on student budgets I can only afford to treat myself every once in a while ;)

Thanks for reading, Hope you enjoyed it.

Winter Wishlist & Must Have's - Makeup!

Friday, 8 November 2013
This is my makeup/beauty version of my winter wishlist and makeup products I love and will continue to use all throughout winter! Again I used Polyvore to create this and all the links to products etc are through my account on my profile right here.

Makeup/Beauty Wishlist

makeup winter

1. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder - Transparent, £3.99
Usually I buy the lightest shade in this, I think it's ivory perhaps, but its still that slight shade too dark for my face, as I'm soooo pale, anything with the slightest orange hint just makes me feel ridiculous. I love being pale, so for this winter I think I will try this powder in the transparent. I do however, love this powder, its not too cakey on my face if I use it moderately, but it stays matte pretty much all day!

2. Rimmel, Kate Moss Matte Collection Lipstick, £5,00
The price usually differs with this, I usually buy mine from fragrance direct, when they have offers on. The only problem is that the best colours go first. I do swear by this product though, I literally cannot find a matte lipstick so lovely, pigmented and matte. I think the shades are beautiful although I wish they did more!

3. ELF makeup brushes, concealer, small stipple brush, £1.86 each
I am always trying to collect new brushes, I would really like to try the stipple brush for foundation for a more even coverage, I love having that flawless skin look, so I'm interested in how that would be better than the normal foundation brush. I also would like to try a more liquid concealer, although the one I use now (collection2000) is actually amazing.

4. Rimmel London, Glam eyes quad eyeshadow, £3.41
Recently I've been wearing more darker eyeshadows, and replacing eyeliner for a darker eye. at the moment I use a small palette from Elf that I bought in Florida, which is great but I would like to try a Rimmel product to see what difference it would make compared to the elf alternative.

5. Smashbox Photoready primer, Travel Size, £6.22
A free sample of this landed on my doorstep in some magazine, possibly ELLE, and I've been using this tiny little sample but I think primer's make such a difference, as I love a flawless finished foundation I think this primer really contribute's to the look. It smoothen's the skin and reduces pores significantly.

6. Revlon Colorstay foundation, Ivory £12,
Out of all the products mentioned this is by far my favourite, I hate the fact it does'nt have a pump, which is really annoying, but I literally cannot find another foundation that matches my skin so perfectly, I use shade Ivory, which is light enough for my skin. I have tried previous foundation, more cheaper options not long ago but this is well worth the money. I bought mine recently on fragrance direct for £6, half the price!

7. Rimmel, 60 second nail polish, around the garden.
I've never been a nail person, but I'm trying to grow them.. with little success. I thought this was a lovely colour for the winter.

8. Rimmel, lasting finish, Mono blush, £4.41
My current blush is super pink and super bright. I want to try a more natural, toned tone blush for the winter. I thought again, Rimmel was an obvious choice. I think I'm just a sucker for Rimmel. sorry!

9. BLEACH London, semi-permanent hair colour,  Rose, £5
I am soon to be writing a review on BLEACH this weekend hopefully, I have been using their products for the last month or so since they came out, I just love the colour this rose gives, its such a lovely baby pink without being too over powering! trying not to give too much away so I can still write my review!
