Hi guys, I finally got round to actually writing a post (yippee!) I'm actually back at home for the week so apologies for my change in photograph style, I don't have a white surface here so *sigh* enjoy this lovely wooden table instead! I've been feeling so inspired lately to be more creative.. I decided that I really wanted to start a scrapbook.. so after much researching and many youtube videos.. I got the basic idea of the items I would need! If you follow me on twitter you would know (as I document pretty much anything) that I went to Hobbycraft yesterday and picked up a few items to get myself started in the scrapbooking loop! I didn't want to buy random things that I wouldn't end up using, as I know how expensive scrapbooking can actually be if you let it. So here's what I picked up!
12"x12" Springtime Collection paper - £8.00
6"x6" Springtime Collection paper - £5.00
I knew I had to pick up some paper to get me started, but I didn't want to buy loads of random patterns.. I wanted a mix which would allow to mix some neutral papers with some patterns! I bought the 12x12 pack for my backgrounds and then I bought the smaller 6x6 pack for layering and backing photos, I thought it would be less waste! I do wish however that maybe I should of bought another set with a similar colour scheme, but that's just what was there at the time.
Blu-Tack // glu pen // £3.00
3D Craft Dots // £2.00
I knew I would need some adhesive (obviously) but I wasn't sure on which ones to get.. I did some research and alot of scrapbookers use the little mouse pods with the sticky tape stuff, god knows what they're called but I didnt really want to fork out money on the wrong things so I just purchased this little liquid glue pen from blu-tack, which allows things to be readjusted too if you make a mistake! I also bought these little 3D craft dots which is a pack of 100 for just £2.00!
Dress It up // Snack attack applique // £2.50
Hobbycraft buttons // £1.00
I found this little snack attack applique pack which had the cutest little ice cream's, watermelon and little treats and they're glittery and they matched my colour scheme pretty well! I also chose these little buttons in similar colour scheme to my papers for some extra embellishments!
Hobbycraft // Note Tags // £1.00
This is such a good little piece it was so cheap at just a quid, but its so cute. It has little pull out tags which you write on which is great as I want my new scrapbook to be quite personal and positive. I also want to add little bits of positive journalling to make my scrapbook my own! They had a few more different versions of this which I might eventually pick up.. (tehe)
Hobbycraft // Scrapbook // £5.00
I took this to the counter.. this was originally £10 but when I got there it was half price! This is just a plain bound scrapbook with brown pages inside. I know a lot of scrapbooker's use scrapbook binders to present their pages but I love feeling the pages and having them crackle every time you turn the page! I felt that plastic sheets are just too boring for me.. maybe one day I'll give them a chance.. but for now while I'm just starting.. this is perfect for what I wanted!
I'm really happy with my purchases and I literally cannot contain my excitement about this little project, I'm hoping to make it a regular blog post about what I scrapbook each week.. but for now I think this will be great to start me off with! I already have various other bits at my house in Bournemouth from leftover crafting and fine-liners etc so I am sorted for all of that.. I've just ordered some other bits and bobs from crate paper and Elle's studio.. which I am super excited for! (eek!)
I actually have my own inspiration for scrapbooking on my Pinterest which you can check out here!
Have you recently been crafting anything?
